Celebrating Our January Precision Cares Winner: Mighty Miss Maya Library Fundraiser!
What an amazing morning celebrating Mighty Miss Maya and her mission of inclusion and empowerment! Maya kicked off the day by reading to three classrooms at 9:30 AM, spreading joy and inspiration to local students. Then, at 10:30 AM, we had a fantastic public storytime at the Kingsley Branch Library, where families gathered to enjoy Maya’s powerful stories and message.
Mighty Miss Maya’s story and the work of Bee Mighty Press remind us all of the importance of representation in children's books. Their mission? To bring diverse, inclusive stories featuring main characters with disabilities to schools and libraries across the country—helping kids see themselves and others in a meaningful way. ❤️

We’re honored to highlight Kandu Island, a drop-in center in Traverse City that provides a welcoming, supportive space for individuals experiencing mental health challenges such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Kandu Island is “A Place to Go, A Place to Be” - offering community, resources, and activities that help people connect and thrive. From games and crafting classes to job search support, a food pantry, and even access to a washer and dryer, they provide a safe and inclusive space for those who need it most.

Celebrating Our April Precision Cares Winner: Better Together of Northern Michigan!
We’re so excited to introduce Better Together of Northern Michigan, a new nonprofit creating an inclusive and supportive space for adults with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and advocates.
Founded in 2024, Better Together is building a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected. They’ve already opened the doors to their Better Together Activity Club (BTAC) and aim to regularly open them during the summer of 2025 -offering consistent opportunities for connection, creativity, and belonging.
As they grow, they’re looking for volunteers, financial support, and help spreading awareness. Let’s lift them up as they continue building a vibrant, welcoming space for all.

June Precision Cares Winner: Relay for Life – Grand Traverse
We’re proud to support Relay for Life of Grand Traverse, our June Precision Cares recipient and a powerful force in the fight against cancer. Saturday’s event (06/07/25) was filled with hope, heart, and incredible community spirit - and we were honored to be part of it.
This year marked 40 Years of Impact for Relay for Life, a tradition that brings people together to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and take action against every type of cancer. Thanks to supporters across the region - including teams still wrapping up coin counts - Relay is just shy of their fundraising goal, and every bit helps.

Each year, they host a Family Retreat designed specifically for families affected by disability - a rare and meaningful chance for rest, renewal, and belonging.

August 2025 Precision Cares Winner
This month, we’re honored to recognize Recovery Road Riders as our August recipient!
Recovery Road Riders was created to provide a clean and sober environment where motorcycle enthusiasts can come together to ride and give back to the community. Their mission extends far beyond the road - through the Recovery Road Scholarship, they’ve been able to award over $130,000 in scholarships to 31 local students who have lost a parent to addiction.

September Precision Cares Winner
We’re honored to recognize Hospice of Michigan as our September recipient! Hospice of Michigan provides compassionate end-of-life care so patients can live fully with dignity and comfort, while supporting families every step of the way. Funds raised and donated stay right here in Northern Michigan, ensuring care is available to anyone in need, regardless of age, diagnosis, or financial circumstances. We had the privilege of presenting them with their check during their Barley, BBQ & Beats Traverse City event, and we’re so thankful for the work they are doing in our community. October Precision Cares Winner
We had the privilege of honoring PoWeR! Book Bags as our October Precision Cares recipient and presenting them with their check at their Sunset Soirée event at Shady Lane Cellars.
PoWeR! Book Bags is helping children and families grow academically, socially, creatively, and physically through literacy “tool kits” that inspire a love of learning and connection. Their work ensures more kids in our region have the resources they need for growth, belonging, and success.
