The Maritime Heritage Alliance is our July 2024 Precision Cares winner!
For 41 years, this grassroots nonprofit has been connecting people with unique maritime experiences. Operating with an all-volunteer crew, they manage two vessels: the 92’ Schooner Madeline, a floating classroom built on an 1845 design, and the 38’ Cutter Champion, which primarily works with at-risk populations. These vessels provide the local community with authentic Great Lakes adventures that most people can’t afford on their own.
The Maritime Heritage Alliance also offers classes to help people develop skills for their own on-water adventures, fostering a sense of self-reliance and strengthening our community. They operate on the water, in their shop, and in a classroom setting with the help of one year-round employee and an amazing group of skilled volunteers.
